by Greg
Hartt
| The
new Wallymall has opened and had people
placing orders, even before the stock
was ready. The mall was designed to make
it easier for wallyball community to
purchase Wallywear. If you are
interested in visiting this site click
in the Wallymall button.
The
AWA is celebrating its 10th
anniversary.
The AWA has come along way, from 265
members 1989, to over 1,000,000 in 1999.
The AWA Network now
conclude over 31 countries worldwide.
Most of the success is credited to the
Internet because it was hard to
communicate with the club and players
before it took off.
We would also like to thanks the
players for you love to the sports , and
a special thanks to all the volunteers
that have donated their time through the
years.
The AWA next project for the year 2000
is to continue creating Wallyball
Association through the world, like the
newest one, The Canadian Wallyball
Association who hosted
the 1998 Wallyball Championship. Currently
we are working with The Republic of
Ecuador,
Bolivia, and Costa Rica
Hopefully by mid 2000
we have A wallyball Association in each
of
these countries.
HAPPY
BIRTHDAY AWA!!!

The newest brand name of
Wallyball sportswear opened to
customers and it is called Spike
& Ike. Spike & Ike were
first to land on the scene in 1993
from the planet of Digscrenity . They
come from a culture known to
all in the universe as the
Digheads. The Digheads are a
culture of animated athletes that
parallel the sports figures on the
planet Earth. As with all athletes
the make-ups and personalities differ.
The individual athleticism of each
Dighead varies to different degrees of
skill level. Spike and Ike were
selected to enter the Earthly world
first due to the energy and maturity
they were born with. One primary
criterion that must exist before
any Dighead is allowed to travel
the universe and appear on Earth is
attitude (otherwise known as MOJO)
other Dighead currently traveling the
galaxy and preparing to enter the
Earthly world are Slam and Jam. The
master plan of the Dighead leaders, from
the Planet of Digserenity is to dispatch
many of the other superstars from
their culture.
Stay in touch with your MOJO!

The
AWA is in the process of creating a new
wallyball. It is called
the Wallyball Suave and was designed for
the players who prefer the suave touch. the word
suave is Spanish for soft. Since there have
been complaint about how hard the
Thunderball can get,
the Suave was made for those players. The
AWA
staff and players throughout the world are now
testing the ball.

Dutch
Wallyball:
It’s been a
while, but I have a lot of news now
about the Dutch Wallyball at
Racketcenter the Leyens in Zoetermeer.
This week the press came to observe and
take photos about the brand new sport in
the Netherlands. It was a great
interview and it was placed in our
regional newspaper, photos included. So
now the sport of Wallyball is getting in
the picture and we hope it will attract
a lot of new players.
We’re
going to invite Belgium and Germany for
a tournament at our club, so we can
play, learn, and have a lot of fun with
each other. I’ll keep you informed
about this when we know the date of the
competition.
Since
Wallyball is going to the media now we
expect that a lot of new people want to
play it. I will also let you know on the
progress of the sport in our country.

Taught in Schools:
I am a college student at Shepherd
College and I am in Wallyball Class. It is
really fun and I like it better than Volleyball.
I need to do a report on the history of
Wallyball and I’m asking for some information.

My
name is Scott Haner and I am a physical
education instructor at Hardin-Simmons
University in Abilene, Texas. I teach Wallyball
class currently and I have 24 students in my
class. I love the sport but haven’t played
much and I teach my class the basic wallyball
skills to prepare them to play. I was wondering
if you have and information that may help my
teaching and my students’ learning.
